We opened our doors at Thyme and Place in 2006 soon after we arrived from the United Kingdom. Our meeters and greeters frequently hit the beach!
We banged nails, swore frequently, argued, dry walled, swore some more and finally after many cans of paint, we opened the store doors! Saltscapes arrived, coaches of customers came, exhaustion set in meanwhile we continued to be creative and the naked swinger was hung!
Working to earn a living had to take priority and 'like everyone else' we had to pay bills and feed the dogs.
Allan worked as a Project Manager for Empire Theatres and for five years Sonia ran the shop as a thrift store raising funds
for Wallace and District Fire Department.
This was such a busy time that more helpers and volunteers were needed.
So, in our 40th (Ruby) year of married bliss (2013) we adopted two kittens Alfie and of course Ruby
And now 2018 is our time....
we will tinker to our hearts content making tide clocks, footstools, rugs, drop spindles and glass with passion.
Where in the world are we?
We can be found on the East Coast of Canada, in Nova Scotia between the villages of Wallace and Tatamagouche.
During the winter you'll find the locals on the ski hills at Wentworth and we have many public beaches to explore in the summer.
Fall, of course, is our special time when the magic paintbrush arrives to delight us all.
If none of that tempts you to come and visit 'by appointment' then of course we will mail your order to you.
See something you fancy?
We hope so. Tell us what your heart desires and we will get back to you with a firm price and postage costs if appropriate. As a rough guide Hooking Frames start at $140 and Tide Clocks from $80.
